"I purchased this gorgeous Ethan Allen butler coffee table from PP for my boyfriend for Christmas. I wanted it to be classic, something he could use forever, no matter where he lives. He loves baseball, so I went with an old fashioned baseball theme. I bought a baseball photography book, purchased knick knacks, stickers, & an actual cigar. I made the collage on foam board, cut to size & modge podged all over. I had glass cut to fit. It is such a useful table. Him & his roommates use it daily & love the baseball theme. In the next few months he will be in a new place, & I am excited to showcase it there next!
"Remember this wall unit? It was the entire inspiration for my recent bathroom re-do and added much needed storage that was lost from using pedestal sinks instead of vanities. Thought about painting it, but the wood was in such great shape and it seemed to warm the space so beautifully, that I just kept it as is. Some vintage-looking scrapbook paper on the back wall to brighten it up & add interest. Thanks Phantastic Phinds!!!!"
Great before and after, just a little redecorating can change a WHOLE piece!

Thanks,

"I just spent a week moving our daughter from Boston to Philadelphia for grad school. What a wonderful and historically rich city. In between unpacking and shopping for necessities we found time explore. We went to the Museum of Fine Art(remember Rocky running the steps?) boathouse row, a guided tour(a family friend being the guide)of the historical district and of course ate a Philly cheesesteak! I also was able to sneak out and do a little treasure hunting. What I found was Phantastic Phinds just outside the city in Erdenheim.
As you may guess ph replaces the letter bf in many names around Philly. What a cute little place it was, owned by a young couple about to have their 1st child who started the business out of their garage!
What I found was this vintage shell frame with a classic ship print, perfect for a powder room or little boys room. It also fit nicely in my suitcase!

Headboard How-To
1. If you want it perfectly even, Trim the bottom or top of the door so the rails (the ladder like crosspieces that separate the door's panels) are equal in width; on most old doors, the bottom rail is thicker than the others. A standard-height door will be tall enough for any size bed; trim as needed. Leaving the door as is may also add a great architectural element as well.
2. Sand, prime, and paint the door.
3. To mount the headboard, cut a 1-by-4 to the headboard's width, then cut it lengthwise on a 45-degree angle into two equal strips. Securely screw one strip to the door & attach the second to the wall, so the angles interlock. (This is called a French cleat, click here to watch a You Tube video on how to make one - it is so easy:)
4. Keep the bottom of the headboard the same distance from the wall by screwing a 1-inch-thick strip to the back.
5. Finish the top of the headboard by nailing on a mitered crown molding.
