Old bookshelf takes a new coat of paint for a nursery.

"Hey Phantastic Phinds! Here's my redo on a shelf I purchased from you several months ago. Gave it a fresh coat of white paint and scuffed up a little. Love it! Love your shop!!
Thanks,
Jessica"

"I just spent a week moving our daughter from Boston to Philadelphia for grad school. What a wonderful and historically rich city. In between unpacking and shopping for necessities we found time explore. We went to the Museum of Fine Art(remember Rocky running the steps?) boathouse row, a guided tour(a family friend being the guide)of the historical district and of course ate a Philly cheesesteak! I also was able to sneak out and do a little treasure hunting. What I found was Phantastic Phinds just outside the city in Erdenheim.
As you may guess ph replaces the letter bf in many names around Philly. What a cute little place it was, owned by a young couple about to have their 1st child who started the business out of their garage!
What I found was this vintage shell frame with a classic ship print, perfect for a powder room or little boys room. It also fit nicely in my suitcase!

Headboard How-To
1. If you want it perfectly even, Trim the bottom or top of the door so the rails (the ladder like crosspieces that separate the door's panels) are equal in width; on most old doors, the bottom rail is thicker than the others. A standard-height door will be tall enough for any size bed; trim as needed. Leaving the door as is may also add a great architectural element as well.
2. Sand, prime, and paint the door.
3. To mount the headboard, cut a 1-by-4 to the headboard's width, then cut it lengthwise on a 45-degree angle into two equal strips. Securely screw one strip to the door & attach the second to the wall, so the angles interlock. (This is called a French cleat, click here to watch a You Tube video on how to make one - it is so easy:)
4. Keep the bottom of the headboard the same distance from the wall by screwing a 1-inch-thick strip to the back.
5. Finish the top of the headboard by nailing on a mitered crown molding.

Plain Silver Mirror Painted a Bright Fun Color!

"This sign board is made out of two of those old wooden shutters you had. I put two hinges on the top and painted some plywood with chalkboard paint (didn't want to compromise the shutters themselves) to make a fun and funky vintage piece to use at my farmers market stands and for weddings. I'll be in soon to get my fix. :-)
